The main colour of the plate is gold, the rim is decorated with a golden patterned band. Three different motives are overlapping each other, the rest is filled with ornamental or geometrical patterns like maple leaves or star shapes. One scene stretches out on the right side of the plate, showing a little tea house in the back, a Japanese young woman and three children by her side. The two tiles on the left are smaller, the top one with temple buildings in the mountains, the bottom one showing another scene in a garden with a stone lantern and house with veranda. Two women are sitting on a bench while a man is standing behind them looking into the distance while a simply dressed man is walking with his back towards the front, possibly a servant. Three Japanese characters are written in the center of the back.
