简介：Pottery is the most important pottery system in the Han Dynasty，which inherited the shape of Shang and Zhou Dynasties. Pottery produced in the Han Dynasty，pottery handicraft industry has been greatly developed in the Han Dynasty. The main manifestation is that the selection and preparation of mud materials are more and more fine. Whether muddy pottery or sanded pottery，whether it is eating utensils or giant storage utensils，they are more fine，regular and practical. The decoration on the objects is quite beautiful，and the daily pottery in the later historical era can hardly be compared with that in the Han Dynasty. Pottery produced in the Han Dynasty （206 B.C. - 220 A.D.）. Pottery-making handicraft industry developed greatly in the Han Dynasty，mainly as the selection and preparation of mud became more sophisticated.
Pottery is still the most common type of pottery，and a small amount of red clay pottery is noteworthy. In the Han Dynasty，white pottery was highly developed and became a very valuable and important variety of pottery，which accounted for a small proportion of pottery at that time. The shape of pottery in the late Han Dynasty，the shape of pottery for cooking，pots and steamers，were used for making pottery. The jue，stew and cup of the drinker，the bowl，beans，bowl，tripod，pot，urn，jar，pot and so on. The decoration is still mainly rope pattern，and there are some scratches，concave lines，strings，additional stacking patterns，holes，and so on. In the mid-Han Dynasty，there were many exquisite striped patterns，such as steamed bread pattern，cloud-thunder pattern and square pattern，which were rarely seen on pottery during this period. This decoration was at that time. It belongs to the life utensils of high officials and nobles.
White pottery is not only fine in material selection，but also quite regular and delicate in production. The surface of the pottery is decorated with exquisite patterns such as glutton pattern，grain pattern，cloud-thunder pattern，zigzag pattern and so on. The shape and decoration of the pottery are all imitations of the bronze ritual wares of that time. White pottery in the late Shang Dynasty was a treasure of pottery at that time，and also a treasure of Chinese pottery. After Shang Dynasty，because of the appearance of porcelain，white pottery declined rapidly.Pottery is the ancestor of pottery. Without pottery，there would be no flourishing development of pottery.
